Flexcare® DrugPlusᵀᴹ Basic Plan
If you don't need dental coverage, you can save money with DrugPlusᵀᴹ Basic Plan. It provides essential drug, vision and extended health care coverage – without dental coverage - to help keep your costs in check.
DrugPlusᵀᴹ Basic Plan may be right for you if you use prescription drugs occasionally or regularly, and don't need to cover dental services.

Drugs
- 70% of first $750 and 90% of next $4,972 (up to $5,000 every year)
- Dispensing fee (no maximum)
Vision
- $250 every 2 years
- Optometrist fees up to $70 every 2 years
Extended Health Care
$250,000 over lifetime for registered specialists and therapists, orthotics, hearing aids, homecare, medical equipment and more (after government health plan maximums reached)
Survivor benefit
- Continued coverage with no premiums for 1 year after death of an insured adult

- Acupuncturist – $25/visit x 20 visits
- Chiropractor – $25/visit x 20 visits plus $35 for chiropractic x-ray
- Naturopath – $25/visit x 20 visits
- Physiotherapist – up to $250
- Psychologist/Psychotherapist/Clinical Counsellor (combined) – $80/first visit or $65/subsequent visit x 15 visits
- Registered Massage Therapist – $25/visit x 20 visits

If your claim form is complete and accurate, you will generally receive payment within six business days. When information is missing, we may have to return the claim form to you. This delays processing and payment.
First, check to see if your provider has already submitted your claim. Often, you don't have to submit a claim because many hospitals, pharmacies and dentists can submit your claim directly to us. There's no online form or paperwork for you, and you only pay the amount your plan doesn't cover.
If your provider hasn't already submitted your claim, you can submit your claim online or on paper by mail.
Submit your claim online:
- Within 12 months of the date you were charged
- After you've paid more than any deductible in your plan
- Specify the currency if your claim is for services outside Canada
- Hold onto original receipts and applicable supporting documentation for 12 months

- Emergency medical care for travellers
Our health and dental plans that offer guaranteed acceptance, including the Flexcare® ComboPlusTM Starter Plan and all four FollowMeTM plans for people whose group benefits are ending, cover eligible pre-existing conditions and eligible current medications.
