Super Visa Insurance is required for individuals who are applying for a Super Visa to visit Canada. The Super Visa is specifically designed for parents and grandparents of Canadian citizens or permanent residents. To be eligible for the Super Visa, applicants must meet certain requirements, including having valid Super Visa Insurance coverage. Visitors to Canada Insurance is mandatory and must meet the minimum coverage criteria set by the Canadian government. It provides visitors with essential health coverage during their stay in Canada.
Travel insurance for the Super Visa is important because it demonstrates that visitors have adequate health coverage while in Canada. It provides financial protection in case of unexpected medical emergencies, ensuring that visitors are not burdened with high healthcare costs.

In our travel insurance policies, a "pre-existing medical condition" means any medical condition that existed prior to your effective date.
For stable pre-existing medical conditions, coverage may be available, subject to certain conditions and limitations. The specific stability period required for coverage may vary depending on the policy and the condition. Generally, a stable condition is one that has not required new treatment, changes in medication, or medical consultation within a defined period, such as 90 days or 180 days prior to the policy's effective date.
Unstable pre-existing medical conditions may have limitations or exclusions in coverage. It's important to note that coverage for unstable conditions may not be available or may require additional assessment or underwriting.
Yes, you can add extra days of coverage while you're visiting Canada provided that there has been:
- No event that has resulted or may result in a claim against the policy, and
- No change in your health status.
However, you must call 1-800-268-3763 before your coverage expires or before the date you were scheduled to return home and pay the appropriate premium.
You can get a refund for the unused days of your trip if you return home before your scheduled return date provided that:
You have not reported or initiated a claim
You have not received any assistance services
10-Day Free Look – If you notify us within 10 days of your purchase date, as indicated on your confirmation, that you are not completely satisfied with your policy, we will provide a full refund if you have not already departed on your trip and there is no claim in progress. Refunds are only available when Manulife receives your request for a refund before your departure date.
